The Great Mental Models - Volume 1 - Reading Journal
Below is the journal as I was reading The Great Mental Models - Volume 1 by Shane Parrish and Rhiannon Beaubien.
- NOTE: Referral is from the author's book home page, thus the author gets the referral fee, not me
Why?
AI has taken away most of the "fun" part of software engineering, which is writing code. Writing code is fun but the least of what Software Engineering is about.
The more important thing is building mental models of customer issues or problems, and how to takcle them.
The book has a wealth of information on not only what you can apply at Software Engineering, but on your life in general.
There are 4 volumes of the Great Mental Models series. I will read and dump my journals again
- for myself, and in case anyone is intersted
Caveat
Per AI dump of my journal, there are some discrepancies of my understanding.
But as that's on me, I will simply let you read my journal as it is without any edits.
